I have twice now had to make it to the gate holding my pants up in one hand and everything else inspected at security in the other. The security lines are long, repeated inspection of belongings before, during, and after they are subjected to Xray. You may be hand scanned multiple times. There is no sense of urgency for any connecting flights. If they find anything questionable (tissues left in pocket, matches in carry-on bag for the smoking room - why have a smoking room if no one can light a match? - a metal necklace) you my have to start all over. If you do have extra time, the terminal has a few good restaurants with friendly staff, but priced for businessmen with expense accounts.
