We actually changed our seats from main cabin to main cabin extra. It chaps my butt just a little to have to pay extra for an extra 5 or 6 inches of legroom, but get no other perks while on the plane. I didn't really care for the 11 hour layover at LAX on the way home either, but I should have paid more attention while booking the flight. That's on me. We were delayed for about a half hour on our flight from LAX to Honolulu, but it was due to the volcano erupting on the big island. Once the flight crew got their flight instructions, everything went great, and we still arrived in Honolulu on time. Overall, all of our flights were pretty typical flights. Nothing special.
